The Nicholas Sparks film adaptation train rolls on (The Notebook, A Walk to Remember). Based on the novel of the same name, DEAR JOHN stars Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried as ill-fated lovers. Tatum’s John Tyree is a young Army enlistee who meets Seyfried’s Savannah Lynn Curtis while on leave. The two fall in love, and John promises to marry Savannah when he returns from his latest tour of duty. the film is directed be Lasse Hallstrom, whose previous works include CHOCOLATE, THE CIDER HOUSE RULES, and WHAT’S EATING GILBERT GRAPE.
